Shannon McCarty currently serves as the Associate Vice President for the Center for Innovation in Learning at National University. Her previous experience included Dean of Instruction and Academic Affairs at Rio Salado College. Prior to her role as the Dean, she served as the Faculty Chair for the Physical Sciences Department. She held this position for 8 years. A personal initiative and interest of Shannon’s is personalized learning. Shannon works closely with Faculty to adopt and implement adaptive platforms. Her earlier focus on personalized learning began when she partnered with the Institutional Research Department. Shannon championed the predictive analytics initiative, RioPACE, at the College. Rio Salado College has been using predictive analytics and interventions for over 6 years. She holds a BA in Biology from the University of Arizona, a MA in Educational Leadership from Arizona State University and a PhD in Professional Studies from Capella University.
