Jay Alan Jackson is a musician, mathematician, and computer scientist. As a drummer, he has had the opportunity to study, perform, and record with many of the best jazz musicians in the world. He has also performed in a wide range of ensembles, playing for everything from circuses and symphony concerts to jazz funerals and broadway shows. He has also conducted computer music research and written numerous interactive multimedia applications. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Florida State University, and has taught at Michigan Technological University, Duke University, University of Louisiana, and Western New England College. He is currently Associate Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he teaches math, interactive audio, and game programming courses.
