Suffolk County Community College Joins the NMC Samantha Adams Becker The NMC is pleased to announce that Suffolk County Community College (SCCC) has joined the NMC member community. With various locations in New York, SCCC is a two-year public college that was founded in 1959. There are approximately 27,000 students enrolled across three campuses, making it the largest community college in the state of New York. SCCC offers Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), and Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees and professional certificates in 100 programs of study. Additionally, sustained workforce development is the key to maintaining and improving the economic engines of SCCC. They have been a catalyst and leading partner in this effort, providing programs and services that contribute to the economic vitality of Long Island. Suffolk County Community College also has an extensive program of non-credit continuing education and professional development courses at each campus. Students may choose courses to improve academic skills, enhance business skills, change careers, satisfy continuing professional education requirements for licensed professions, or increase knowledge in a particular area.
