We are happy to announce that the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has become a member of the NMC community. QUT is a leading Australian university with a global outlook. Based in Brisbane with some 47,000 students, QUT is ranked by UK’s Times Higher Education as Queensland’s top university under 50 years old, and is listed in the top 500 globally by the 2015 Academic Ranking of World Universities. QUT is also Australia’s fastest growing research university with six faculties and three campuses.

QUT is known as “a university for the real world” because of its close links with industry as well as their relevant teaching practices and applied research. QUT Business School is in the top 1% of business schools worldwide to hold triple accreditation. 88% of QUT’s research effort is ranked world standard or above by the Australian Government 2012 ERA and their annual research income approaches $AUD100 million.

QUT’s staff and students work and study in technology-rich, world-class precincts. The Science and Engineering Centre at the inner-city Gardens Point campus is home to The Cube, one of the world’s largest digital interactive learning and display spaces.

At the Kelvin Grove campus, the Creative Industries Precinct will enter a new phase in 2016 with the completion of stage two, expanding sophisticated digital facilities to include outstanding studio spaces. Development of a new $AUD75 million Education Precinct is also underway at Kelvin Grove.

As host to Australia’s Centre for Robotic Vision, QUT holds the biennial international festival Robotronica, a free, one-day community event showcasing robotics and technological innovations from QUT and across the globe.

We look forward to following the progress of these innovative projects!
