Slatenight Live Music!
CDB Barkley (aka Alan Levine) : Oct 20, 2006 06:53pm
Following our panel discussion with SL musicians, we were treated to live performances frrom three of our guests, each playing from their home, and streaming via the server hosted by Mel Cheeky. This was an extreme highlight to be there for live music of 3 very different styles.
Tune in below to hear all of the songs we heard.
First up, we enjoyed the angelic voice and acoustic guitar of Mel Cheeky, coming to us live from her home in Wales. Mel also provided us a nice notecard, with illustrations, as a gudei for streaming music in SL using WinAmp. We’ll look for a way to share this in the NMC Campus Library.

Next was some bluesy riffs from Sydney courtesy of Billy Thunder:

And closing out the live music session was some great turntable DJ action by Cybster Curtis

Oh, that’s not good, they should have got permission from the performers.
It’s a good set though, I’ve listened to it a lot, nice versions of your tracks Mel!

Just to clarify; this was a mis communication on our part; as we had thought we had informed the performers that we’d be recording and posting their performance. This was one of 6 sessions in a row in one day, that was part of 10 days of about 40 various events.
It’s not the best excuse, but we are not profiting in any way here, and have offered to remove the audio if any of the performers object.
