Session Description
Because of their capacity to sift through large amounts of data, text mining and data mining tools enable higher education institutions to reveal valuable patterns in students’ learning behaviors without having to resort to traditional survey methods. In an effort to uncover ways to improve live video streaming (LVS) students’ learning experiences, the presenters applied text mining to data culled from live video streaming interactions. Findings revealed low participation among LVS students, which triggered them to initiate several actions that promoted more active student participation.
