Over its decade of work, the Horizon Project has grown to the point that it may very well be producing the single most important body of research into emerging technology within the world of education. Learning analytics has been featured in several past editions of the NMC Horizon Report, always cited as four to five years away from mainstream adoption ...until now. Last month, the NMC Horizon Project > 2012 Higher Education Advisory Board voted to place learning analytics in the mid-term horizon (two to three years away), which means that this emerging technology topic has gained some serious momentum.
