Learning analytics has been featured in several past editions of the NMC Horizon Report, always cited as four to five years away from mainstream adoption ...until now. Last month, the NMC Horizon Project > 2012 Higher Education Advisory Board voted to place learning analytics in the mid-term horizon (two to three years away), which means that this emerging technology topic has gained some serious momentum.
