NMC members are involved in the organization on every level, from planning our yearly goals to participating on Horizon Project Advisory Boards to hosting panels and workshops at our face-to-face meetings. The NMC also provides many platforms for the Member Community to share ideas, projects, and best practices with each other and the rest of the world.
Join the Campus Leaders Advisory Board. The C-LAB plays a major role in shaping the future of the NMC at an annual face-to-face event and a virtual meeting. In fact, this website reflects many of the desires voiced at the 2011 C-LAB meeting.
Nominate Yourself for an NMC Horizon Project Advisory Board. For each edition of the NMC Horizon Report, a global advisory board comprised of many NMC members collaborates on research to determine which emerging technologies, trends, and challenges are most likely to impact teaching, learning, and creative inquiry over the next five years. Nominate yourself today.
Attend or Present at NMC Events. Our annual Summer Conference is the most popular NMC event and always includes breakout sessions, panels, and workshops hosted by members. We also recognize that institutions often face travel constraints, so the NMC organizes as many as 30 virtual events per year, where members have the opportunity to interact with thought leaders, learn from each other, and showcase their own exciting projects.
Publish Your Projects. Launching or wrapping up a project? Submit yours to NMC Horizon Project Navigator, an open content database brimming with NMC member projects — making yours easier to discover and disseminate. Many of those projects end up as published in-practice examples in the NMC Horizon Report. The NMC also features member projects in our bi-weekly YouTube series and monthly electronic newsletter. Our iTunes U site is home to a robust archive of our content, and we want our members to be a part of that. NMC members can also publish their content on the official NMC iTunes U site.
Get Grant-Funded Support. The NMC teams up with members in the design, execution, and analysis of a number of grant-funded opportunities from which our membership has greatly benefited over the years. The Challenge Based Learning project, HP Catalyst Initiative, Pachyderm, and MIDEA mini-grants, for example, have helped many NMC members implement new technologies and learning strategies at their institutions.
Share Your Ideas, Jobs and Events with a Larger Audience. We pay for them — seriously. While NMC members are able to create blog posts on our website, those who are interested in regularly sharing their edtech wisdom can apply to be an official NMC Contributing Editor. NMC members can also post job openings on the NMC website and events on the official NMC calendar.
