Capella University won a Blackboard Greenhouse Exemplary Course Program award for its ambitious online public speaking course, SPC1000. To see a narrated presentation about the course design, the use of videoconferencing technology, and the use of rich McGraw-Hill multimedia assets, review the SPC1000 Presentation. This course won the award based upon the quality of the course design as judged against the Greenhouse Exemplary Course Evaluation Rubric. It was also distinguished by the use of:

• Breeze Meeting, webcams, and headsets to facilitate the delivery of speeches to live peer audiences from Alaska to Slovakia.
• More than 100 multimedia assets, obtained through an agreement with McGraw-Hill, that create a rich learning environment within the WebCT Courseroom. This environment includes downloadable mp3 abridged versions of the book chapters, full length speech videos, video clips with commentary, flashcards, and an online speech outliner application.
