What our attendees are saying about the NMC Summer Conference: ______________________________

"The conference exceeded my expectations. A great group of creative, dedicated, very intelligent people with enough ideas in 2½ days to make it feel like 10!"

"This was my first year to attend the conference - and it far exceeded my expectations. I have never experienced this level of creativity, quality, innovation and passion at a higher education conference. Thank you!"

"The NMC is the premiere gathering place of higher education’s most creative people. "

"The presenters allocated a considerable amount of their presentation time to demo and discussion. This hands-on discussion time is a huge benefit when considering using a new technology or using technology in innovative ways in academic teaching environments."

3-Day Digital Storytelling Institute

From the multimedia novice to the professional, this special three-day institute is a great introduction to working with digital imaging and digital video software while learning the essential elements of effective storytelling at the same time. The institute, which will run from Monday, June 13 through Wednesday June 15, 2005, includes hands-on instruction in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Elements, and in script and storyboard development. Center for Digital Storytelling Staff will provide each attendee with specific assistance on their projects, including design, scripting, and other issues regarding the use of the digital storytelling. Preconference Workshops

These extended-length workshops provide attendees the chance to explore a topic in depth or participate in hands-on training in a variety of new software programs. Preconference Workshops require advance registration and payment of a special fee in addition to the normal Summer Conference registration fees. All preconference sessions will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2005. To learn more about the 2005 Preconference Workshops Click Here.

Center of Excellence Awards
Five Minutes of Fame

This year the Center of Excellence Awards and the Five Minutes of Fame sessions will be held within the same plenary session, on Friday, June 17, 2005. The session will begin by recognizing the extraordinary contributions of NMC member instructions with the Center of Excellence Awards, and then continuing to celebrate the achievements of member campuses in the fast-paced Five Minutes of Fame. In this trademark NMC event, presenters have only five minutes to tell their remarkable stories -- and if they run out of time -- a gong will signal that their "Five Minutes of Fame" is up! This unusual session is fast, fun, and a great overview of some fantastic work taking place on a dozen campuses!
