2008 NMC Symposium on Mashups

Second Life and Adobe Connect hosted by The New Media Consortium

The NMC Symposium on Mashups, the eleventh in the NMC’s series of online conferences, will itself be a mashup of venues, with sessions taking place in both the Adobe Connect 2D web environment and in the 3D virtual world of Second Life. All events in Second Life will also be streamed into Adobe Connect; participants will also be able to access Adobe Connect from within Second Life.

In this segment of the meeting, NMC members discussed the recent Directors' annual survey; reviewed NMC Services, including Virtual Worlds and Pachyderm; discussed NMC Initiatives; discussed the future of NMC meetings; and received a preview of the coming year.

As the title suggests, the conference will be held in New Orleans at Tulane University; our hosts are our friends at Technology Services. Tulane is one of the country's leading educational and research institutions. Founded in 1834 in New Orleans, Tulane offers degrees in architecture, business, law, liberal arts, medicine, public health and tropical medicine, the sciences and engineering, and social work.
