SimU 2007 Conference a Success
Posted September 8th, 2007 by Tom HapgoodSimU 2007 was an amazing success. We had great presentations from Judd Ruggill and Ken McAllister of the University of Arizona and the Learning Games Initiative , Jason and Sunny Cerchie of Electric Sheep Company and Ian Bogost and Ken Knoespel from Georgia Tech. Thanks also to the student panelists: Troy Long, Drew Avery, Suzanne Ownbey and Quinten Rezin. Photos of the conference can be seen here , or view the 6-hours of archived video footage here .
SimU 2007 was "a significant conference at the Reynolds Center of Enterprise Development on the campus of the University of Arkansas, addressing the challenges and opportunities for higher education that are provided by increasing numbers of so-called 'millennial students'. These students come to the university with extensive experience in digital gaming, including video games, computer-based role playing games, and massive multiplayer on-line games."
Jason and Sunny Cerchie gave a great tour in SecondLife of the NMC Campus as well as a wonderful overview of the SecondLife experience and working as an architect in SecondLife.
